Eternal Wrapup
Eternal closed its doors last month. Since then I’ve had some time to reflect.
When Alex told me about his vision for Eternal in the spring of 2024, I immediately wanted to be a part of it. I hadn’t felt that kind of pull since I discovered Strava was hiring back in 2010. The idea of receiving a holistic health and performance report along with guidance was exactly what I wanted for myself and I was excited to bring it to life.
Over the course of the last two-plus years I’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredible people from a wide range of backgrounds and for that I’m truly grateful. I’m also proud of what we created, from the unique assessment protocol to the first-class mobile and web apps. None of it would have been possible without the blood, sweat and tears (mostly literally) that made it a reality.
Some of my favorite moments were spent on a Zwift trainer doing ramp tests while having my finger pricked and wearing a VO2 mask. I’ll also never forget that feeling of not being able to do a pull up. Eternal changed my life because the assessment showed me the importance of strength training. That discovery made me a different person.
I’m sad for everyone on our team and sorry to all of our disappointed customers, but I’m also thankful for the experience.
More on what’s next for me soon.
